Does My Child Qualify for CDBS in Pimpama, QLD?
Qualifying children should meet the following criteria:
- The child is aged two to 17 for at least one day during the qualifying calendar year.
- The child or caregiver receives Australian Government payments for part of the qualifying year.
- The child qualifies for Medicare.
About the Children’s Dental Benefit Schedule
The CDBS is a government-sponsored plan that helps eligible children receive the dental care they need without the financial burden. It covers most basic treatments and services as part of the Medicare program, allowing $1,158 in payments to your child’s dentist for services rendered. This benefit covers two calendar years of dental services.
These services may include:
- Dental Checks and Teeth Cleans: To promote optimal oral health
- Tooth Fillings: To close a cavity-treated tooth
- Fissure Sealants: To lock cavity-causing debris away from teeth
- Dental X-Rays: To monitor your child's ongoing oral health and diagnose conditions
- Straightforward Root Canal Therapy: To treat a deep tooth infection
- Tooth Extractions: To pretreat or repair damage
The first year benefit rolls over to the second year. However, if you don’t use the full benefit by the end of the second year, the benefit expires.
